How do I order a dress from you?

Click on the Shop page or simply click the link on each individual costume's page. You will be able to purchase directly from http://shop.decontructressdesigns.com with a credit card or your PayPal account. Once you order your dress, I'll send you a measurement guide if it is a custom order and ask for your specifications for your own one-of-a-kind dress.
How do I send you payment?

I generally handle payments through PayPal. You can pay with a credit card or check on PayPal. However, if you are interested in a different form of payment, just let me know and I will be happy to accommodate you.
Once you have approved the details of your order, I will invoice you for the full amount including shipping. I generally do not accept payments less than the full amount unless there are special circumstances. The full amount must be paid before I begin the dress.

Can you do special orders with my own ideas?

Absolutely! I love working with a client on a unique gown from their own idea. It’s a great way to exchange ideas and come up with something completely unique just for you.

Can you guarantee that my dress will be a perfect fit?

I wish I had the ability to travel all over and do custom fittings, but it’s just not within my means to do so. However, if you are able to give me perfect measurements, your dress will be a perfect fit. It is always best to have a professional seamstress take your measurements for you. That way there are no mistakes. However, if you do the measurements yourself, please make sure to ask me a lot of questions first. I’ll be happy to provide you with a guide to taking your own measurements. There is always the chance that a few minor alterations may need to be made once your dress is received, in which case you can return it to me or have it altered by your local seamstress.

Do you accept returns?

Because almost all of my items are custom made or tailored just for you, I will only accept returns if there is a major flaw or gross misrepresentation of the gown once it is received. The best way to assure your happiness with your purchase is to ask me as many questions as possible before it is sent to you. Be sure the measurements you send to me are accurate and precise.

How do you ship and how much does it cost?

I generally use USPS Priority Mail, fully insured, which takes 2-3 days for you to receive. I charge a flat fee of $19.95 and $9.95 for each additional items for shipping within the United States. Outside of the United States, I ship using USPS International Priority Mail (6-10 days) for $34.95. If you have another preference or if the shipping is urgent, I will make separate arrangements for you.

How do you make these dresses?

With many of the dresses I make, I start with a sample wedding dress as a canvas. I cut, tear, burn, shred, paint, dye and whatever other technique I can think of to create the idea in my mind. Other dresses I make completely from scratch and work with my clients by doing sketches, picking fabrics, using a muslin and creating the final dress.

How do I care for my dress?

The process and materials I use require your dress to be dry cleaned or spot cleaned. I recommend steaming them instead of pressing. Each hand painted garment is permanent and should not fade or change if proper care is used in cleaning.
