The Gothic Ballerina Dress

What do you get when you put a
ballerina, a Ramone, Courtney Love, Betsey Johnson and some cool pink ribbon in
a blender? This dress.... at least I'd like to think so.
The
Dress
The dress began as a simple, boring, fluffy white wedding
dress. The bodice was plain white satin and the skirt was full tulle. I started
by cutting the neckline into a sweetheart shape with spaghetti straps. I added
corset boning and lacing to the bodice as well. I then cut up all the tulle
layers to make a tutu-type skirt.
Finally, I painted the whole thing
solid black.
I added a cool, striped pink ribbon along the neckline and
also used it to lace the back closed. I added a black-and-white striped ribbon
to the bottom of the skirt. I added some dusty pink nylon tulle pieces under the
first layer of black tulle. The final touch was some silver chain draped around
the waistline.
