Giselle's Wedding Dress
based on Disney's Enchanted
$1200

This dress began its life as three wedding gowns, yards and yards of crystal organza, a six-hooped underskirt, white feathers and lots of metallic paint. It's a beautiful recreation of the gown from the movie, but a bit more wearable. It is full and layered with ruffles, but not nearly as full as the movie gown. While I wanted it to truly represent the movie version, I wanted it to be wearable and comfortable. The movie version actually had TWO hoop skirts underneath it! While beautiful for a film, not quite wearable for a costume party.

The Bodice
The bodice of this gown is embroidered and beaded with a flowering vine motif. The beautifully scooped neckline is adorned with a butterfly. I made the butterfly's wings with carefully cut and sculpted feathers and then carefully painted them with shimmering metallic silvers and golds. The body is crystal organza and his antenna are curled sterling silver jewelry wire. There are two satin rose buds over the right hip and another small delicate feather butterfly sits atop one.

The Skirt
The skirt of this gown begins with a lining of heavy bridal satin. Over that is one layer of heavy netting and five layers of tulle. The left side of the skirt features twenty rows of hand sewn, bias-cut ruffles made of crystal organza. Several rows of ruffles have been sprayed with glitter to create a beautiful sheen and depth.

The right side of the skirt is draped with heavy bridal satin that sweeps over the organza ruffles. The satin has then been hand painted with crystalline, silvers and golds to emulate embroidery. The patterns are swirling vines and florals which are very similar to the movie version.
